Spanish Town, one of the more popular areas in Downtown Baton Rouge is a typical downtown neighborhood that has a lot of character and small yards. Here one can really feel the true sense of community and everyone gets to know each other in these neighborhoods with residents that are progressive, inclusive and accepting. There is a large amount of historical preservation, thus maintaining the beautiful historical buildings. Spanish Town has a beautiful Mardi Gras parade and festival that has become one of Baton Rouge's favourite events.
